Katherine Highet and Danuta Highet have been committed to promoting awareness of the ability of individuals with disabilities, and especially autism. Danuta with Melissa Niemann have published the book they've co-authored: Autism: Advancing on the Spectrum, From Inclusion in School to Participation in Life. Lessons Learned from Life, and especially life with Katherine whom Danuta (Katherine's mom) and Melissa supported in school and after school activities.
